Research Project: Inside the Revolving Door: Government-Business Connections in Contemporary Japan

Dr. Incerti received his Ph.D. in Political Science from Yale University (2022) and B.A. in Political Economy and Asian Studies from University of California, Berkeley (2012). His main area of research is private gain from politics and public office, such as corruption and regulatory capture. His second area of research looks at the economic drivers of political behavior more generally. He has also conducted research in quantitative methods, where he is particularly interested in the reliability and validity of measurement strategies. His research has been published in the American Political Science Review and British Journal of Political Science, among other outlets. His research project for 2022–23 is titled “Inside the Revolving Door: Government-Business Connections in Contemporary Japan.”
