Research Project: Public Debt and Fiscal Reform in Japan and the U.S.
Shigeki Moriyama holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Tokyo. Mr. Moriyama has held several positions at the Ministry of Finance, including Deputy-Director of the Office of Vice-Minister of Finance for the International Affairs. He is currently the Minister’s Secretariat and an analyst on local economies in Tokyo. Mr. Moriyama has also served as a member of the G-7 delegation as Director of the Policy Co-ordination Office. Additionally, Mr. Moriyama has also held positions within the Embassy of Japan located in Hungary and within Austria. His publications include “Role of the Central Bank under Deflation” published in the Discussion Paper Series, No.06A-17, Policy Research Institute, Ministry of Finance of Japan. His research project for the 2022-23 academic year is titled, "Public Debt and Fiscal Reform in Japan and the U.S."
