Research Project: An International History of the U.S.-Japan Security System
Dr. Kuniyoshi is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Political Science and Economics at Waseda University. He received his B.A. in Economics from Waseda University, M.A. in Law (with a focus on international history) from Hitotsubashi University, and Ph.D. in International History from the London School of Economic and Political Science. His research interests include international history of the Cold War in East Asia, Anglo-Japanese relations in the 20th century, Japan’s postwar international relations, and the origins and development of Japan-U.S. security relations. He is the author of Britain and Japan’s Security, 1945-54 (Routledge, forthcoming), and numerous articles in English and Japanese. While at Harvard, he will focus on the U.S. and international concerns about Japan’s rearmament in the Cold War period.
