Research Project: Comparative Analysis of Cross-border E-Commerce and Taxation
Takashi Nakao earned a B.A. from Hiroshima University, and later earned an M.A. in International Studies and M.Sc. in Economic Policy and International Business from the University of Birmingham in the U.K. Most recently, he served as Senior Deputy Director in the International Cooperation Division within the Customs and Tariff Bureau. His other previous positions include Deputy Director in the Coordination Division of the Customs and Tariff Bureau, and Head of Administrative Section of the Kobe Customs. He has also served as Regional Development Manager for the Asia Pacific Region at the World Customs Organization in Brussels, Belgium. During the 2020–21 year, Mr. Nakao will conduct comparative research on cross-border e-commerce and taxation in the U.S., Japan, and other countries.
