Research Project: Evidence-Based Policy Making (EBPM): Its Applications for Japan 

Masayuki Kusuda holds a Bachelor of Science and Engineering from Ritsumeikan University, and a M.A. in Energy Science from the University of Kyoto. He first joined the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) in 2010, and he most recently served as Deputy Director there. His other previous positions include Deputy Director at the Office of Premium Voucher Policy, Cabinet Secretariat; Deputy Director, Headquarter for Overcoming Population Decline and Vitalizing Local Economy in Japan, Cabinet Secretariat; Deputy Director, Technology and Innovation Division, Small and Medium Enterprise Agency; and Assistant Director, Aerospace and Defense Industry Division, Manufacturing Industries Bureau. Mr. Kusuda’s research project for 2020–21 is titled “Evidence-Based Policy Making (EBPM): Its Applications for Japan.”
