Claudia Junghyun Kim
Research project: Local Contestation of Global U.S. Military Presence in Japan and South Korea
Claudia Junghyun Kim holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Boston University and a B.A. in Political Science from Ewha Women's University. She specializes in social movements, alliance politics, and politics of American military bases overseas, with a regional focus on Japan and South Korea. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in Armed Forces & Society, Pacific Review, Journal of Contemporary Asia, and Social Science Japan Journal. At Harvard, she plans to work on her book manuscript on the local contestation of global U.S. military presence in Japan and South Korea.
