Research Project: Legal Framework for Cybercrime Investigation in the U.S.

Kei Kitanohara holds a LL.B. from Kyoto University. He has served in Japan’s National Police Agency (NPA) since 2014, and has most recently held the position of Assistant Director of the Safety Division at the Community Safety Bureau. His other previous positions include Assistant Director of the Security Planning Division at the Security Bureau in the NPA, Chief Inspector of the Criminal Division of the Osaka Minami Police Station in the Osaka Prefectural Police, and Chief Official of the Office of Victims Support at the Commissioner General’s Secretariat within the NPA. During the 2022-23 academic year, Mr. Kitanohara will research the legal framework for cybercrime investigation in the United States.
