William Lyon Mackenzie King Postdoctoral Fellowship

The Canada Program at Harvard University’s Weatherhead Center for International Affairs hosts two William Lyon Mackenzie King Postdoctoral Fellowships. The fellowships are two-year positions and are open to scholars in all disciplines who are engaged in Canadian studies broadly defined. Scholars working on comparative US-Canada research may receive preference. To be eligible, applicants must have been awarded the PhD no earlier than five years before the start date of the appointment.

The fellowships provide an annual stipend, funding for research and for individual health insurance coverage, and a dependent care subsidy of $10,000 per dependent per year. Fellows are expected to engage with the Canada Program and with the University’s wider community. Fellows receive shared office space at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, and enjoy full access to the University’s library, archival, and computing resources.

The next application cycle for the academic years 2026–2028 will open in June 2025.
