    Awards and Benefits

    The Canada Program at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs awards dissertation fellowships to support Harvard graduate students who focus at least half of their dissertation topics on Canada. The dissertation fellowships may be used for students at the research or completion stage. The research fellowships carry a stipend of $10,000.     The Canada Program at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs awards dissertation fellowships to support Harvard graduate students who focus at least half of their dissertation topics on Canada. The dissertation fellowships may be used for students at the research or completion stage. The research fellowships carry term stipends of up to $10,000.     Thesis Support

    Awards and Benefits

    The Canada Program at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs will award undergraduate thesis research grants of up to $5,000 each for field research in Canada. Recipients of the grants will be named Canada Research Fellows and will be afforded the opportunity to present their thesis research at the WCFIA Undergraduate Conference which is traditionally held during the spring semester before theses are due.

    Since 2008, the Canada Program has granted more than $1,000,000 in thesis and dissertation research funding to Harvard students—both graduate and undergraduate—representing the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, the College, and other schools across the University. Students receiving support, known as Canada Research Fellows, are engaged in research concerning government, law, sociology, history, music, education, public health, and urban design.
