Iraq. Dr. Almaliky is an Iraqi American physician, a long- standing political activist and the founder of the Iraqi American Institute, a foreign policy think tank concerned with studying and analyzing Iraq’s foreign policy with a focus on the US – Iraq relations. After completing his medical education in Basra University/Iraq and later at Temple University/Philadelphia, he obtained an MPH and MPA from Harvard University. Subsequently, he returned to Iraq to consult in health system reform, and electoral processes. He currently divides his time between Philadelphia where he practices medicine and cardiology at the University of Pennsylvania, and Cambridge where he continues to build his institute. His research interest is post - war Iraq's foreign policy, and democratization in Iraq and the Middle East.
